Moving and our new House

We moved 2 weeks ago, on Saturday the 20th and it was actually a pretty good day.  I had been moving us over into our new house slowly so when the big day came it was smooth sailing.  The kids loved playing in the truck before heading to a friends house.

We had about 8 guys from our ward come and help and we were completely done (moving all our stuff out and in to our new place) in less than 1 1/2 hours. I went and picked up the kids, they ate lunch in our new home and went down for naps in their completely ready and organized room.  While it made for a long month it was so nice to have our new house ready to move into.
We are so grateful for everyone who helped us get into this house.  We are grateful to be done with our old house (and landlord!) and be here in this house.  The house is much smaller, with a small, old kitchen (which was something I didn't think I could deal with but I'm learning to work in their and be organized) but having an attached garage (that doesn't flood with every rainstorm!) to park the car in and store stuff has already been a life changing experience.
The kids had some struggles, they were being shuffled around from babysitter to babysitter (in 5 days they were at 7 different babysitter's houses) plus having a new house, on top of having a new baby too...it's amazing the kids didn't do worse.
We are completely done with our old house now- I spent way too many hours over their cleaning, and then on Tuesday my mom and I spent the morning re-cleaning and finishing everything up and then on Wednesday (after remembering I hadn't cleaned the oven and frantically doing that), I turned over the keys and said good riddance to the land lord.
We love our new neighborhood and are working on making this home more organized and functional, but the huge backyard has been so wonderful...and I swear there are less mosquitoes over here (even though we are just a mile or so away from our old house) so it's working out great so far!
Here's to 2 more guaranteed years in Houston!

Hooray for being done with the move! I am glad you had lots of help and I hope your new place works well for you for as long as you need it too!
