We Love the Temple

2 Saturdays ago the Primary in our ward held a special activity at the Houston Temple.  I was so excited to go as a family and spend time at such a wonderful place.  We were able to meet with the new Temple President and his wife and go on a tour of the exterior of the Temple and learn more about how it came to be.

I was worried because the weather was not looking good all day- it was pouring rain and I was contemplating not going, but Chris said we should go.   The long drive and bad weather was not a problem at all as the rain stopped or was only a slight drizzle while we were there, and there was an amazing turnout from our ward!

We then stopped at Rudy's BBQ on our way home- Nathan has been asking to go on a date with us (we've been going on a lot more dates recently..3 kids has made it a necessity that we get out by ourselves!) so he was excited to have a "family date night." It made for a fun night together.

The next day was Fast and Testimony meeting at Church.  (This is an opportunity for members to get up and share their testimony to the rest of the congregation).  Nathan expressed a desire to do it months ago so we practiced and prepared and let him do it a while ago.  I didn't expect him to want to do it again, but he asked to go up again so he did, and once again he did an amazing job. All on his own, with absolutely no help, he bore a sweet and simple testimony that the temple is where we can be a family forever.  He such an amazing kid and we are so lucky that he is part of our forever family.  I am so glad we were able to go to the Temple and feel the Spirit there- it truly is a wonderful place- and that Nathan could feel the Spirit and know at such a young age that it a special and sacred place.
