Better Late than Never

For Family Home Evening yesterday we finally got around to dyeing the eggs I boiled so many days ago.  Last week was crazy- more than one night found me in tears because it seemed like nothing was going my way (particularly Thursday...oh how I loathe last Thursday) so anyway, it seemed we could never found time together as a family for more than 20 minutes so last night it was!

The fun part was watching the little color pellets sizzle in the vinegar- good times!  Nathan loved putting the eggs in and taking them out (he only went in once with this hands this year--improvement!) We somehow managed to steer him away from dyeing every egg blue so we ended up with a great array of colors.

Poor Abby wanted in on the action too but I'm not that nice of a mom...so she was relegated to coloring some paper and eating some hard boiled eggs (for the first time!) 

We ended the night with some mini blue bell ice cream sandwiches- yummy!
