Over Halfway There

The pregnancy is moving along rather quickly.  Last Tuesday I went to the doctor for the 20 week ultrasound (I was 20 weeks last Monday) and walked out 21 weeks, which means we're now 22 weeks---nice!  My doctor has decided to keep my official due date August 20th, but I have no expectation that I'll actually have the baby by then...oh well.  It's just nice to say that we're definitely over half way there! Be warned I will still complain and whine and cry and scream when I hit August 21st with no baby...I'm pretty sure no rational thought occurs when you watch your due date come and go.

I scheduled the appointment during a time when I thought Chris could come (thankfully he didn't end up having to go to surgery that day!)  It was during the other kid's nap time so a wonderful friend came over and sat at our house while they slept (literally, I put them both to bed about 1 minute before she got there and Nathan woke up as I walked in the door).  Chris hopped on the train and met me at the office.  It was great to see and hear our little baby girl (yep- she is still a she!) when Chris could be there.

Everything looked perfect on the ultrasound- she's a happy, healthy little lady.  The doctor called her "petite"....ha ha! Like any of my children could classify as petite! (Don't worry, it's just due to the discrepancy with the due dates...not like I'd actually have a small baby!) I loved watching the heart beating and see all the little movements.  It's amazing how small and perfect she is. She is very active, which I love now- feeling the baby move is my absolute favorite part about being pregnant minus the legs jammed into my rib cage or the use of my bladder as a punching bag. She already seems really strong so it's fun to see the little movements when I sit and look at my rapidly expanding belly.
We love this little girl so much and can't wait to meet her!
