Not Again...

Remember how we just got over being sick?
Wrong.

Last Friday night we noticed Abby had a slight fever.  On Saturday it seemed to go away but came back that night.  Sunday we noticed she had a rash...and was drooling a lot--weird symptom right? It wasn't until that night when I gave her a piece of fresh pineapple (which she loves) and the poor girl cried so hard when it touched her throat.
Monday morning was crazy due to maintenance people stopping by all day, so I didn't notice that Nathan had a fever until he walked up to me and asked me to snuggle. We spent almost all day reading books and watching TV (way too much Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins) snuggling on the couch. When Chris came home he took a look at his throat and there was some nasty stuff going on back there.
So this morning I was lucky to get an early appointment at the kids doctor and I took them in.  We did a quick test for strep and, as the doctor said, Nathan had a "raging case of strep".  Abby just has a mild case.
After one more trip to the pharmacy we are now good to go- by tomorrow morning we will be officially non-contagious! Since we were all out of popsicles we picked some up while we waited...Nathan was so thrilled to find a blue popsicle, but extremely sad we had to wait to bring it home before we ate it...

And since I didn't feel like dealing withe mess of Abby with a red and blue popsicle she got some go-gurt instead

It stinks having sick kids- they are tired, not feeling well, in pain, grouchy, don't want to eat, irritable, and cranky.  I'm excited for the medicine to start working so I can play with my fun, happy, darling, sweet, wonderful kids again!

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!

Ugh, no fun! Make sure to get new toothbrushes for the kiddos so you don't reinfect.
