The Zoobilee

Every year the Houston Zoo holds a big party for it's members- and now that we're members we finally got to go! I brought the kids right after they woke up from their naps and they were both excited.

Our first stop is always the sea lions.  We love the sea lions.

We then saw the elephants and got the first stamp in our passport! (Each kid was given a little book that they could go around the zoo and see different animals and get it stamped.  Nathan loved getting the stamps for him and Abby)  We then kept going to look for more animals! We saw some okapi, some type of African cattle, the lions, jungle cats, bears...so many!

We made our way around the zoo looking at some animals when we found the inflatable obstacle course! Nathan was dying to go, but I was afraid it was too advanced for him.  But he quickly got himself in line was adamant about going.

Just then Chris called to say he was in the Zoo (he came over straight from work to meet us there)

and arrived just in time to see Nathan go!

And go again!

Then Nathan, Abby, and I went on the big slide.

We ate some dinner.

Then headed out to see some more animals.
this is Abby's face when she says "cheese"- so cute!

The highlight of the night was the exhibit about Dinosaurs where they had mechanized dinosaurs you could walk around and see.  Nathan had been looking forward to it for so long.  It was pretty cool and I'm glad we went to see it, but I'm even more glad we went on the night it was free- not sure I'd spend extra money to go see it again.

Abby was scared, Nathan thought it was awesome...made for a great time!

And Nathan was so proud of his poster he got for getting all his stamps in his passport!

We are glad we were able to go to the Zoobilee...and this morning when Nathan woke up I asked him what he wanted to do today and he said he wanted to see the dinosaurs at the zoo- so I think it was a hit!
