Boston Vacation- Day 6

Since Chris's conference was officially over we decided for our last full day to head out to Plymouth and up the Cape. I was super nervous about the kids getting cold so they each had multiple shirts on. Thankfully it warmed up to be the perfect day and we were able to shed some layers.

Our first stop was the see the Mayflower II. First impression of the area was that it was gorgeous! I'll definitely always be an east coast girl!

We walked around the little town of Plymouth and saw Plymouth Rock.

and of course they wanted to touch the water, too bad it was a little low from the stairs leading down to it, good thing Chris is a nice, strong dad!

We then headed over to Plymouth Plantation and saw some of the artisans and the farm.

We first got to see the native American settlement and talk to some actual descendants of the Natives who lived there when the pilgrims came over.

I think we interrupted his lady's nap time- she was more interested in sleeping then talking about whatever it was she was supposed to be telling us.

The lady inside this home was very interesting- I liked listening to her, and the kids liked sitting on real animal skins.

We headed over to the Plymouth Settlement and enjoyed walking around. I

In this area all the actors are required to stay in character which really through the kids for a loop- they didn't quite get it :)

We then decided to keep driving farther up the Cape- the kids napped in the car while we enjoyed the scenery and tried to figure out where to go.  Finally we just pulled over to some beach and got out.  It was absolutely beautiful.

The kids spent most of the time there with Chris trying to skip rocks.

The kids absolutely loved it there.

But I think they were most excited about this sign, and they still mention it when we talk about going to the beach!

We then decided to look for a good seafood place to go to for dinner and picked an absolute winner in Wellfleet- if you're in the area go to Mac's Seafood Market & Grill- best clam chowder I have EVER eaten.  And my first time trying an oyster was absolutely perfect.  It was absolutely amazing.

We stayed way too late and didn't want the day to end.  It was the perfect last day!
